Esther and Garry were married on 6th June at Pratis Barn in Fife. "We were planning the wedding for about 8 months - which I think was the perfect length of time. Not too rushed, but also not dragging things out too long!" Huge thanks to the wonderful Emma of Emma Kenny Photography for sharing her gorgeous images of their day. You can catch Emma on her website, Facebook and Instagram.

"Being an interior designer, I knew all along I didn't want a typical hotel 'function room' type interior, and was looking for a barn style venue - the type of place I could really add my own little bits & pieces to and create a relaxed atmosphere for our guests. I thought I had heard of every possible barn venue in central Scotland when I stumbled across one of the posts on Braw Brides where I spotted a venue I hadn't seen before. After quite a bit of hunting online I found the contact details of the couple who got married there who then told me it was their uncles farm and put me in touch! Great size, price and location - deeelighted!"

"My favourite part of planning was everyone I got to meet during the process that would make the day so special - in particular our photographer (Emma) and my florist (Catherine), Susie owner of Pratis Farm, Laura (my cake girl), Richard (De-licious Catering), Reel Guid (the ceilidh band) the ladies in the bridal shop - everyone made me feel at ease and I felt completely comfortable with everyone pulling together all the wee details just as I had imagined and more."

"Garry was involved in some aspects, for the most part he was happy to let me run with the details of the day, but he was also the one to keep me sane throughout so credit for that! He and my now mother-in-law get a special mention for making 145 origami cranes as name cards too - was great help! "

"My mum and I had gone to perhaps eight bridal shops in total and within that tried on quite a lot of dresses - I knew in my head what I was roughly looking for but just thought it would be fun to try on all styles anyway since you only do this once! There was a couple where certain dresses stood out and I went back to revisit one shop in particular where I saw two dresses I had liked previously. When I was there the lovely lady said we have had a few new dresses in since you were last in that I think you may like - one of those was turned out to be my dress - just as well I went back! It was a strange feeling it wasn't a 'yes that's it!' right away I think I was in shock thinking 'could this be actually be my dress?!' It was a beautiful Marylise dress, gorgeous chiffon material, A-line skirt, sweetheart neckline with some beading and pearls from my waist up, was within budget, was very ‘me'."

"My shoes were Irregular Choice, I had just recently got them for my friends wedding and worn them once as her bridesmaid but they were exactly what I was after, in nude tones and also super comfy! My gorgeous head piece was borrowed from a lovely collegue at work."

"Garry and I both have faith in Jesus personally and believe that marriage is a gift from God. Our vows were really special and making those promises to each other before God and before all our friends and family was really precious to us."

"I had so many favourite parts of the day! I loved the overall look & feel of the venue, the gorgeous warm & bright colours of the flowers in the candle light with hints of copper in the lanterns and flower pots. I absolutely loved how well the buffet style meal went. It was quite a new concept for a lot of people but everyone was overjoyed by the choice of amazing food on offer, and the speed everyone was eating, and the best bit was it allowed people to mingle throughout the meal. Garry and I were also really touched by so many people genuinely giving sweet comments about how much they loved the day, were touched by the ceremony, loved the relaxed format and set up of the venue & the meal and were genuinely really enjoying themselves! Exactly what we had hoped for and more!"

"Seeing the venue come all together with the flowers, fairy lights, decoration & detail was worth every effort."

"Sitting at the table during the delicious meal looking out surrounded by all our favourite people feeling so thankful and consciously soaking up that moment."

"A wedding is one day but marriage is for life. Remember what the day is about - you are marrying your soul mate! Creating a special day for your guests can be stressful/exciting/emotional, but try to just enjoy the process as much as you can, the day will be great regardless with all your loved ones standing by and it’s the best thing ever at the end of it being married your best friend."

"Everyone I worked with was amazing, in particular our photographer Emma (who is now a lifetime friend) is an amazing girl, with such a big heart, and was a delight to work with. She has a creative eye with the ability to see things differently and I knew I could completely trust her to capture all the wee details of the day."

"My florist Catherine was also lovely, she has fields of gorgeous wild flowers on the coast in Crail. She listened intently to what I was after, had the eye for pulling together the colours/flowers I wanted. She also offered some great ideas too that I would never have thought of. She let us come visit her and she took us on a wee tour of her gardens - amazing! Also on the run up to the day she sent images of what she was planning to check I was happy with things."
