denise + craig | tullibole castle

Denise and Craig were married on 13th September 2014 at the gorgeous Tullibole Castle in Kinross. They were planning their wedding for one year exactly. Huge thanks to the lovely Kristin from Struve Photography for sharing her stunning images of this wedding. You can catch Kristin on her website, Facebook & Instagram.

Not only do we have the images, we have the stunning highlights film from Walnut Wasp... check out their #notordinaryweddings channel now...

"Craig and I had looked at a few different types of venue from modern/contemporary to traditional ‘wedding venues’. We decided quite early on that we wanted something a bit different. We were looking for barn style venues and nothing was taking our fancy. We visited Tullibole Castle on a whim and knew instantly it was what we were looking for. The venue itself was very unique and offered so much flexibility, we were basically given carte blanche to do what we wanted and loved the different spaces available. We were able to have a romantic castle venue for the ceremony and then have a very relaxed and rustic barn style venue for our evening reception, best of both worlds!"

"We loved the menu tasting – our food was a big part of the day and we spend a lot of time thinking about and tasting our menu. Wild Thyme helped us a lot with this and would highly recommend them."

"I also loved how the wedding brought all our friends and family together, more than I thought was possible. Everyone pulled together for us so much and it such a special way to spend time with our loved ones."

"Craig took an interest to start off with but was then more interested in his own outfit than invitations and centre pieces. He supported me all the way through and gave his honest input especially with food, cake and wine tasting! We had a lot of fun with the planning and didn’t take it too seriously."

"I originally had a certain dress style in my head but kept my options open when looking. I tried on a lot more than I originally thought and June Brides were so helpful and patient. I ended up with a much bigger dress than anticipated but felt it was very chic and fitted the feel of the day. The dress was a flared A-line dress with a sheer neckline. It had beaded embroidery and a ¾ length sleeve. I wanted a dress with back detail and this met my expectations and more."

"We had a Humanist ceremony – Brenda Reid was our celebrant and she was great. She was such a pleasure to deal with and produced a lovely service which just captured the day and us perfectly."

"It is such a hard thing to pick one favourite part. The food was amazing but seeing all our friends and family in one room together to see us start the rest of our lives together was amazing and will stick with us forever."

"We hired vintage crockery from a company called the Green Cockatoo. Fiona and John were fantastic and a pleasure to work with. Fiona’s collection is fantastic and added such an individual and unique spin on the day. We felt this detail just gave the wow factor and gave our day so much character."

"My clearest memory was how much fun we had! The constant smile on Craig and I’s face (in-between the tears)."

"Do what you want and don’t get bogged down in the details. All the extra details make a difference in your head but no one will notice if they don’t make it there on the day. Also have fun!"

Lord Moncrieff who owns Tullibole helped a lot with our plans and was very flexible with all of our ideas

Our caterers Wild Thyme were particularly amazing. Jan was on hand on the day to oversee everything and every request we had made was no issue. The food and service provided was first class – we would highly recommend!

As mentioned before The Green Cockatoo were also great. They supplied the vintage crockery, cutlery and glassware for our day, John and Fiona were brilliant to deal with. Again nothing was an issue and were so relaxed – would recommend!
