rebecca + tom | guardswell farm

Rebecca and Tom were married in the height of Summer on 12th August at Guardswell Farm. Huge thanks to the amazing Carole Ann from Harper Scott Photo for sharing her images of the day with us. You can contact Carole Ann through her website, Facebook or Instagram.

"We got engaged exactly one year before whilst travelling the North Coast 500 in View from the Slow Lane’s Little Miss Sunshine VW Campervan."

"We wanted a relaxed wedding with open planned space and a beautiful view, all of which we got 100% with Guardswell. We visited Guardswell on a rainy day in September when it was a building site, no roof or walls but we still fell in love with the whole feel of the place. We didn’t discuss it with each other we just asked Anna what dates she had available there and then!"

"Tom would argue he planned more than me haha, I enjoyed researching suppliers and reading wedding blogs whilst Tom did all the important stuff sorting documents and contracts so we made a good team."

"We had a Civil ceremony which was lovely with two readings: ‘Union’ by Robert Fulgham and ‘If you can always be as close’."

"I knew I wanted a high neckline which ended up being more difficult than I thought and I went to about five different shops before buying the dress I had tried on right at the start. The dress was a high halter neckline with an open back, delicate lace detail over the dress and the train."

"When we were at Guardswell setting up the day before the wedding our friend did an amazing surprise job on the big chalkboard doors writing a welcome message which was totally unexpected."

"Having the perfect excuse to have lots of fun times with family and friends was our favourite part of the planning process; my auntie and uncle dried flower petals for the year and we had fun doing arts and crafts like making the confetti cones."

"Carole-Ann; our amazing photographer; had the best idea to get some pictures up the hill at the farm. We love hill walking and it was lovely spending some peaceful time together to take the day in. And of course we ended up with pictures we love."

"Our clearest memory is when we did our first dance to John Mayer XO and seeing all the people we love standing in a circle looking so happy for us."

"Just have fun, don’t get stressed having to have a perfect theme or colour scheme, just pick things along the way you both love and it will all come together and be perfect."
