Claire of #teambb's Daisy Bisley fame and her lovely beau Peter were married on 10th November at St. Mirins Cathedral, with their reception at Ingliston Country Club. They were planning their wedding for a year. Betty and Dave from Tub of Jelly photographed and filmed their wedding - huge thanks to them for sharing what they captured on the day! You can catch them on their website, Facebook and Instagram.
"Like all brides I went in to wedding dress shopping with a solid idea in my head, but came away with something completely different. In the end I went with a lovely light, column dress that felt a bit 1920/30s, (accidentally fitting in with the Art Deco theme of the venue). I also had the best veil in the world, with a 1920s headband - I didn’t even want a veil to begin with!"
"Peter was fairly involved through the whole process, especially with the big decisions, but we were both pretty laid back about our whole approach to planning."
"As a designer my favourite part was creating and planning all of our stationery and doing all the wee bits of DIY. It was so much fun to incorporate our movie theme, but at the same time keep in mind the style of the venue."
"We knew before we even got engaged that our wedding would have a movie theme, so when we walked in to the Salerno suite and saw all the incredible Art Deco that was going on we thought it looked like the inside of Christopher Nolan’s brain when he was making Inception!"
"My favourite part of the day was the ten minutes we took before dinner to go away by ourselves and just take a breather. Everything goes by so fast and we were told by everyone to take a wee break to be on our own and I'm so glad we did. It was so nice just to sit and talk to each other about the morning, the ceremony, how nervous we had been and just appreciate everything that had happened so far. The food was also amazing!"
"I loved creating all of our stationery, favours and all the other crafty bits. Everything was made with our movie theme in mind. I designed our invitations to look like movie tickets, complete with a tear off stub that was sent back to us as an RSVP. We had a 'guestbook' where everyone signed a cinema ticket and put it in to an old film reel can. Our card box was made to look like a vintage camera, which involved pinching some samples of a leather styled wallpaper from B&Q and a lot of work with silver pens. We both spent hours looking for the perfect photoshop technique to make our 3D movie poster cards that everyone got in their popcorn tub favours along with vintage 3D glasses, movie trivia cards and a good helping of popcorn. Our cake fitted with the theme too, Claire did an amazing job and it looked absolutely perfect. I have to admit my least favourite part of the day was cutting the cake!"
"My clearest memory is realising how sore my face was! I had a permanent smile the whole day. Being the clumsy person I am, I knew at one point I was going to do something daft that I could cringe about later, but I got it out of the way pretty early so it wasn't too bad. When we all arrived at the church I had forgotten that our Priest was going to come and get us so we all just walked in. Then it hit me that there was no music so we had to stop and start again!"
"Planning should be a fun and stress free process . If you've done your research and have the suppliers you love - trust them! Don't stress out about the tiniest details, your wedding day is going to go by so fast and they just wont matter. The important part is that you are marrying the person you love and want to spend the rest of your life with, just go with the flow and enjoy every minute."
