Silk & Sixpence
- Pinterest, Instagram, Facebook or Twitter?
Instagram is my favourite as I’m much more a picture girl than a words girl…as for Twitter, there’s too much drivel to scroll through!
- Glasgow or Edinburgh?
I think the Bura is the best city in the UK and that’s why I live there. Glasgow may have better shopping, I’ll give it that, but Edinburgh is so pretty with sights such as the castle, hosts the fabulous festival and has great green spaces such as the Union Canal and Water of Leith. It feels much more like a friendly village than a full on city.
- Biggest achievement?
Still to come…watch this space!
- Scottish Wedding Venue?
I’m yet to find my perfect Scottish venue, but something in the country or by the sea, with great views. It needs to be a beautiful place but not in an intimidating way that makes guests feel like they have to be on their best behaviour. Weddings should be fun.
- Wedding traditions or anything goes?
A bit of both, I like to be quirky but there’s something sentimental about a touch of tradition.
- Five dream dinner party guests?
I think this might be a typo?! Surely the question should read “Five: Dream dinner party guests?” Then the answer is ‘Yes’. I would want to sit next to J.
- What would you cook them?
Cooking would be too much of a distraction, so I’d order in a Thai takeaway. Plus, I’m no Delia.
- Last book you read?
Does the Daily Mail celebrity gossip page count?
- Favourite film?
Oooo that’s a hard one. It has to be Steel Magnolias because it’s not an obvious choice, it’s girly, can have a wee cry to but also a good old giggle – perfect!
- Guilty pleasure?
My slanket with MasterChef. Warning - slankets are never a good look.
- Favourite first dance song?
Not a huge fan of first dances, prefer for the first dance to be something that everyone in the room can get up to and have a good jig to.
- Old, new, borrowed or blue?
You forgot the last bit of the rhyme – “a silver sixpence in her shoe”, which I’d choose, obviously!
- Wedding dress or wedding shoes?
I’m defo more a dress girl than a shoe girl – feet freak me out.
- Aspiring to be?
A wonderful girlfriend, daughter, sister, friend and business owner.
- Ceremony or reception?
Mmmmmm, both. Without the ceremony the day is just a big party, but without the reception there’s not a chance to properly celebrate.
- One piece of wedding planning advice?
Ensure there are lots of personal touches planned throughout your big day. They’re the bits people remember. No one wants his or her wedding to be like any average Joe’s.
- One piece of wedding day advice?
Don’t expect everything to go as planned. Things will go wrong, but it’s only ‘wrong’ because you know exactly how you wanted something to happen. It’s unlikely other people will notice!
