Wow! I just couldn't believe this was Scotland when I first looked at these photos of Joey & Eddie's wedding! They were married on 25th July at Turnberry Resort and were planning their wedding for just 6 months. Huge thanks to the ever fabulous Chantal Lachance-Gibson for these stunning images.
"We both just fell in love with the venue first time we visited, the building, the decor, the view and the service."
"We enjoyed most of the planning process and since we only had less than 7 months to plan it so there were times that we felt the stress. I’d say the favourite part would be us working together towards the same goal and of course the menu tasting."
"Eddie was very much hands on. He took charge of all the bigger planning parts as he called them like booking the band, organising the coach and contacting the humanist."
"I had two wedding dresses. Coming from Chinese background I wore a traditional red wedding dress which belonged to my mother in law. For the white dress, I had always known what I was looking for, so I had it custom made in China."
"My red Chinese dress has two parts, a jacket and a skirt. Both are made of fine silk. The jacket has dragons, phoenixes and flowers pattern with red beads and colorful sequins stitched on them. The skirt has matching patterns with red tassels at the bottom."
"My white dress is an A line shape, cap shoulder sleeves with sweetheart neckline. The top half is covered in flower pattern laces, it stops at the waist then strips of laces come down till the hip. A few lace patterns dotting on the skirt part, it has a small train with a round of lace attached to the bottom of the dress."
"The ceremony was definitely the favourite part of the day for us."
"We made our own favours. We loved the fact that we were growing closer and stronger as a couple through the whole process. And learning to compromise. "
"We got married outside on a balcony, the sun was blazing and we were holding hands listening to our celebrant."
Joey's advice for your wedding planning is simple... "Don’t let the stress overshadow the joy of the planning."
