andrew + andrew | the national piping centre

Andrew and Andrew were married on 25th April at The National Piping Centre. They were planning their wedding for two years. Huge thanks to my great friend Marc from One Big Picture Photography for sharing his images of their joy filled day. You can catch Marc on his website, Facebook and Instagram. And also in our supplier directory! Andrew and Andrew's wedding also features a couple more #teamBB stars; The National Piping Centre and Lavender Blue.

"The first thing that attracted us was that my grandparents had got married there when it was the old Cowcaddens church - more than 60 years ago! We also wanted a venue where we could have the ceremony, the meal and reception without having to move or bus our guests around - it also meant we could get ready in the same place and stay over when it was all finished!"

"Actually meeting with all of our suppliers was our favourite part of the planning! Our photographer, florist and decoration suppliers were all very involved with wedding shows and events at the Piping Centre so we knew that they had a really thorough understanding of how events ran there. The meetings let us know we were in safe hands!"

"Not to say that Andrew steamrolled over the planning process - but one of us definitely had more of a vision for the big day than the other! He’s more creative and I’m better with the organisation so we made a good planning team."

"Our wedding outfits were very easy, being two guys we already had our own kilts which thankfully complemented very well!"

"We had a Humanist ceremony - we had been to similar ceremonies in the past and the personal touches make them really special and individual - perfect for our day."

"Taking some time during the meal and evening reception to work our way around our guests, thank them for coming and to share in the occasion with them was our favourite part of the day. The happy couple might be the reason they are all there but it wouldn’t be a wedding without our friends and family. Hearing their thoughts on the day and sharing in the fun of the wedding made it all worth while."

"We had a guestbook that was part of the package with our photo booth supplier. When our guests had taken their photos they were asked to stick the print out in a guestbook and write a short message to us. It was a small thing but captured the fun of the evening and was a really easy way to get something memorable from our guests."

"Walking into the room when it had been set up for dinner was pretty special. We were piped in and saw all of our family and friends cheering for us - it was an incredibly emotional moment."

"Plan EVERYTHING well in advance and don’t rush the process - enjoy it. Talk through your thoughts with your suppliers, they cater for weddings ALL THE TIME and they know what will work well on the day - better than you! It’s YOUR day but trust the professionals."

"Everyone was just fantastic - we should offer special thanks to Marc our photographer. He took us for a pre-wedding practice shoot to get us ready for the main event which also supplied a mounted photo for all our guests to sign on the day.
