"Meldrum House is a 13th century baronial mansion set within a beautiful Scottish country estate. The location, surroundings and building itself is absolutely exquisite and provided that 'fairytale setting' for our enchanted forest wedding. It’s renowned for providing an excellent service for weddings, luxurious accommodation and fine dining. It has been dubbed the ‘Best Hotel in Scotland’ and picked up ‘Most Hospitable Hotel’ award in Aberdeen. It also won the AA Hotel of the Year for Scotland in 2014/15. Couldn’t have had a better venue!"
"I visited four bridal shops before I found my dress! I found it really difficult to decide on one since there’s so many beautiful dresses out there. I thought I had chosen the one but when I went to try it on one last time, it just didn’t work for me. I was starting to get really stressed and worried as it was only seven months before the wedding. The staff in the bridal shop were so helpful and at that point, they suggested I try on one last dress as they thought it would fit with the theme of the wedding. As soon as I tried it on, I knew it was perfect. After I bought it, I started to have second thoughts and doubts about the dress. However, I’ve since found out that most brides have these thoughts until the day of the wedding. On the day I knew I made the right decision and my dress was stunning! It’s a Ronald Joyce princess dress, sweetheart neckline with diamante details that gave just the right amount of bling! It was very light and easy to wear considering it was a proper princess style with a train. I bought it from Perfect Bridal Aberdeen who I can’t praise highly enough. I couldn’t find a veil to match so I had one hand made which turned out to be much cheaper than buying from a shop. It complimented the fairytale princess dress with diamantes along the trim and long enough to float in the breeze."
"We had a Civil service and our registrar was brilliant! It's hard to pick just one part of the day, I loved it all! The dancing at the reception was brilliant and a great was to celebrate the day!"
"Creating the theme of our enchanted forest wedding was the best part of planning. It was so much fun exploring all the possibilities and linking everything together from the table decorations to the light up tree and the guest favours which were potion bottles filled with different coloured alcoholic shots. It really got my creative juices flowing and made it so memorable for our guests!"
"I’m a bit of a control freak so even if Billy had wanted to be more involved; I probably wouldn’t have let him! I think he was quite glad about this as he’s pretty indecisive. He picked the kilts and came along to meetings about the decorations and cake and things but it was more for show rather than making any decisions. He did help to hold me back in some things as it could have gotten really out of hand at points. If he really didn’t like something, he did make it known!"
"Sobbing down the aisle (highly unusual for me to cry) is my clearest memory of the day. With the buildup of excitement, happiness and adrenaline, I just couldn’t hold it back! I had to burst out laughing (along with all our guests) half way down as all you could hear was the clunking of the aisle lanterns being knocked over by me and my princess dress! Just as well or my makeup would’ve been ruined!"
"Our cake was amazing! Again, keeping in line with the theme, our cake maker Kirsty totally understood and delivered on what we wanted. I wanted a cake that looked like tree logs with loads of magical forest details. We had the idea of having a 'wonky' cake to make it look a bit more fairytale. She absolutely nailed it with the realistic bark effect, toadstools and shrubbery. Our guests all said that not only did it taste delicious, it was the most unusual and imaginative cake they’ve seen!"
"Have everything you want and more! It’s a one-time deal and you should do it your way and have it reflect who you are! Forget everyone else’s opinions and go for gold!"

"Our suppliers were all amazing! I wouldn’t feel right mentioning a couple of suppliers for exceptional service because I was truly blessed with every single one of them! I couldn’t recommend them all highly enough and each one of them gave 100% (and more)."
