hannah + christopher | pollokshields burgh hall

Hannah and Christopher were married on 29th April at Pollokshields Burgh Hall. They were planning their wedding for around a year. Huge thanks to Chantal and Scott for sharing their images of the day which we love! You can catch them on their website, Facebook or Instagram.

"We both liked the building; I loved the main hall with the stained-glass windows. We were also keen to find a venue that was easy to get to from the city centre and somewhere that we could have the whole day (ceremony and reception). "

"Planning the Humanist ceremony together and with the help of our celebrant was our favourite part of the planning process."

"Christopher was really involved – the majority of decisions were made jointly."

"It was relatively easy finding my outift; I had great help from my sister and two close friends. I wore a skirt and top; the skirt was from Coast and my friend made the top."

"I can't think of one favourite part of the day in particular; I loved the flowers at the venue; speaking to friends and family after the ceremony; getting some time in the park for photographs; the food; the music and dancing."

"I was really pleased with our flowers and loved how they looked in the venue. My mum made small bottles of limoncello / damson gin for the favours so it was it was a team effort to get them all labelled but quite fun and nice to spend time with my mum and sister doing that. I also quite enjoyed being in the hall the day before with my mum, sister, bridesmaid and partner setting up for the next day."

"I have a really clear memory of waiting to walk into the hall with my dad; partly because two separate groups of friends were running late so had to run past us! It took the pressure off and helped set a relaxed tone for the day."

"Start researching and getting organised early and be yourselves. It's your day so if traditions don't work for you don't stress yourself out trying to incorporate them or please others.
