anne + dave | dalduff farm

Anne and Dave were married on 23rd September at The Barn at Dalduff Farm. They were planning their wedding for two years. Huge thanks to my good friend Marc from One Big Picture for sharing his images of their day with us. You can catch Marc on his shiny new website, Facebook or Instagram.

"We chose Dalduff simply because it’s stunning! We both fell in love with the venue as soon as we visited it. We were looking for somewhere different. A non-traditional wedding venue that would give us lots of space and a beautiful backdrop. Dalduff has so many different areas and hidden corners, it was just perfect. Also, the food is AMAZING!"

"To be honest I loved planning everything about planning! As all of our suppliers were amazing. Top of the list though, I’d say was dress shopping! Although stressful to begin with, as soon as I was introduced to Wendy everything fell into place! Wedding fayres were a lot of fun too… although maybe too much prosecco and not enough planning went on!"

"As my husband works in the wedding and events industry he was heavily involved. He had great ideas and he made some props for our big day himself. Dave and his workmates decorated the full venue to coincide with our gorgeous flowers, quirky signage and personal touches."

"I was searching around every bridal shop within a thirty mile radius of Glasgow! I thought I knew what I was looking for but I was completely wrong! My florist gave me Wendy’s details and I’m so glad I went to meet her at Sloans Wedding Fayre."

"At first we planned a simply ivory dress but that soon changed.  Wendy had a glorious grey tulle skirt that she used for a photoshoot, once I saw the images I fell in love with it. Grey turned to blue and a delicate lace top was added. It was perfect. I did have a few wobbles and almost backed out of the dress entirely. But my fab bridesmaids and Wendy kept me on track."

"We had a Humanist ceremony, it was so personal. Lots of stories were shared about how we came to be and about our family. Our humanist Sandy was outstanding, he asked us to write a few sentences about why we love one another, and only share it with him. He read these out during our ceremony, I was in tears listening to it. It was such a lovely idea."

"We also had a Scottish hand fasting, we used blue satin from my dress and a piece of tartan from Dave’s kilt. It’s a lovely keepsake. After this we had a lovely reading from my Son and bridesmaid."

"It was simply an amazing day! The ceremony was perfect, all of the people involved made it that little bit more special for us. It was so personal and full of love and laughter. And seeing Dave’s face light up when he saw me in my big blue dress was priceless. He definitely didn’t expect it!"

"The food at Dalduff is outstanding! The staff were so attentive, they actually chased me around ensuring I ate while mingling."

"Dave and I had a look around in the evening, watching everyone enjoying themselves, we couldn’t actually believe that all of our plans for the day came together so well. It was just simply a wonderful feeling."

"Standing across from Dave during our ceremony is my clearest memory, we were both so nervous and emotional but it all seemed to disappear. We looked over at our three boys, they looked so handsome and grown up in their kilts. My heart just melted. It was perfect."

"One thing that will always stick in my mind is climbing over a fence in a massive dress and wellies for some amazing photographs! I don’t think Dave and Marc (our photographer) thought I’d get over it as quickly as I did!"

"We had so many details from beginning to end. My amazing bridesmaid Louise made all of our favours, strawberry fudge! Individually packed in little boxes with personalised labels, it was delicious. Our very close friend Louise created our wedding cake! It was amazing! Vanilla, lemon drizzle and chocolate layers! Yumminess!"

"We had lots of help from Claire from Daisy Bisley. She made all of our stationery and created some signs and a welcome chalkboard for us! They were just stunning. She also created a custom leather jacket for me (very last minute). It was one of the best decisions I made! I LOVE IT!"

"One of our best ideas was to get a pizza van for the evening! Flaming Indulgence! Everyone raved about it!"

"Enjoy it, don’t stress about it! Make a list of all the must haves and take it from there. It is so easy to get out of control. Just focus on the day you want and do not aim to please anybody else."
