Kimberly and Stephen were married on 2nd June at Boswells Coach House. They were planning their wedding for a year and a half. Huge thanks to the lovely Kathryn Tuckerman for sharing her images of the day. You can contact Kathryn on her website, Facebook or Instagram.
"I wanted the rustic romantic barn but also the polished wedding feel of a marquee and Boswells provided both. It has amazing grounds for photographs, a gorgeous flat on-site to get ready and the marquee is the best in Ayrshire. Coupled with the fact that the wedding co-ordinator Sue was so helpful and lovely and on-hand to answer questions 24/7 - it was like dealing with friends and family rather than a business so I trusted Boswells from start to finish. The biggest deal breaker was I could put my own stamp on the venue as they allow you in from the Thursday before so you really can be as creative as you wish and it’s good for my inner control freak! There was no restrictions or rules on timings, food, decorations it was take our venue and make it your own day - a very rare find in Ayrshire!"
"I had all the ideas in my head and Stephen was my sounding board. We worked together on everything we did and we both had the vision of giving our guests the best day ever as we both knew what we liked and disliked about previous weddings. Basically we wanted everyone to be chilled and enjoy good company, food, drink and music so this is what we did!"
"I loved doing the stationery and putting it all together - we did tea towels with their invites wrapped inside then into tissue and postal boxes with ribbon. Five invites in I started to regret the ninety five I had to go but it was all worth it - love a good bit of stationery"
"From the fussiest fashion girl in the land that has to try on around thirty dresses just for a friends wedding the idea of picking my own wedding dress was overwhelming. I kept putting off going dress shopping as I don’t like a fuss and I knew I didn’t want a traditional dress. So I stumbled upon ‘Unbridaled’ on Instagram and since it was in Ayr decided to book an appointment. I had a dress in mind to try on as I wanted something boho or whimsical. Unbridaled were great with me and advised me to pull a few different styles of dress and then I would know better what suits. The girl deliberately left my chosen dress to last and as soon as she buttoned it up I knew it was the one. It has a lace top, three quarter sleeves, full corset inside and a blush pink tulle skirt that just skimmed - I felt really comfortable and just that little bit rock n roll in it. The dress was Ange Etoiles."
"I wanted something non-religious or Humanist but personal and legal. We found an amazing celebrant called David Mitchell and he delivered the most amazing ceremony that made grown men cry and the whole room laugh - everyone still talks about our ceremony. The ceremony was amazingly intimate, romantic, emotional and uplifting."
"My clearest memory was saying my vows to my new husband and meaning every word. Knowing that after all these years of saying ‘will we’ ‘won’t we’ get married that we were her today with our friends and family and we did it! Being in the room with everyone we loved was overwhelming and I will remember it forever."
"From the first strum on the guitar the dance floor was filled and it’s no wonder due to the outstanding vocal and guitar skills of The Little Symphonies with surprise guests of ‘Drums n Roses’. Both bands amazed our guests and were talked about for days and days after. The best party ever!"
"My favourite detail was my name board. Family is always something we hold dear. Unfortunately our grandparents have passed but we wanted to make sure they were a part of the day so we decided to name our tables after them to include them in our day. I know it meant a lot to our guests and meant they were there with us on the day. There’s an iconic tree that stands next to the marquee little a natural umbrella so I decided to use gold picture frames and pop photos of our grandparents round the tree plus name frames with seating details for the guests. 'To see where your seat will be check the family tree' sign was made for the top of the tree."
"The food - wow, wow , wow! We had antipasti platters with fresh artisan breads and cheese, meats and fresh melon followed by crispy cheese gnocchi which people still talk about and are trying to make at home. The main was simply Ayrshire ham and tatties as we like simple delicious food and this was just mouth watering."
"We had a dessert station where we had a selection of award winning Mancinis ice cream and cakes; Nona lous and Fat Bottom Girls cakes (caramac, raspberry ruffle, salted caramel popcorn and our amazing three tier wedding cake was vicky sponge, carrot and chocolate."
"Before we booked anything we looked back at all the weddings and parties we had been to and picked out all the things we enjoyed and everything that we think other people enjoyed. Most people prefer a short ceremony, good food and drink, no huge lull in time between ceremony and dinner, quick speeches and good music. All the rest is just a cherry on top. After each wedding you remember the food, drink and music the most so this is where we concentrated our time and budget. Also, don’t take your wedding too seriously at the end of the day it’s a party with friends and family and if all the people you love are there then that’s all you really need so don’t sweat the small stuff. Everyone is willing you to have a great day and if you have forgotten anything only you’ll know it, nobody else will. Pull off the wedding of your own dreams and choose everything specific to you and your partner and you can’t go wrong."

"I can honestly say every single supplier we worked with was exceptional. You don’t need to spend thousands to receive the best. Our venue was amazing and have became friends and a place where we can always go back for a welcoming coffee. Our florist was amazing from start to finish nothing was to hard, big or creative and she kept the prices to a fraction of what big Glasgow florets were charging but delivered the same results. Our cakes were outstanding in flavour and design and the girls were so helpful and attentive. My wedding dress shopping at Unbridaled was easy, no pushy sales and allowed me to be that little bit different. Our bands were truly outstanding and people still talk of them to this day. The were the nicest bunch of lads and kept constant communication. No song request was refused and their musician skills were truly first class - I’d pay to see both at a gig! Stationery blew my guests minds and in turn we started a competition of most creative RSVP which did it’s rounds on Insta setting the scene for an exiting wedding. Our photographer, well... just look at the photos they speak for themselves and Kathryn was like a fourth bridesmaid on the day I couldn’t have had my day without her help and attention to detail. All suppliers deserve a massive shout out as truly they are some of the best in the business!"
