This shoot has been a while in the making! Marc from One Big Picture Photography, Cat from Fin Flukra and I have discussed this on and off for the best part of a year since walking through the doors of Ardgowan House; it really is a timeless venue which I feel gives us some magical images. As always, the small team we worked with on this produced their best work and we are so happy to share this with you.
“Walking through the front door to Ardgowan House, you're immediately wrapped in the sense of romance, magic and intrigue. It's such a fabulous place to explore and you can't help but imagine the people who have lived there over the years.”
”I approached this photo shoot with one main objective in my mind, I did not want to produce a 'classic' looking style that you might associate with a stately home. Instead, I wanted to create the alternative and to showcase the spaces around the house using the pockets of light, colour and texture.”
”I think my favourite image is of the couple sat on the sofa with a single shaft of light shining down on them from the roof dome high above. I'm very proud of this image due in part to the fact that it's something I would want to create on a real wedding day. But also, something the owner Ludo said to me, it's a location that no other photographer had ever worked with before. So yes, that makes it my favourite.” - Marc
