bryony & dominic | trossachs national park

Every day when I look at my submissions inbox I think how lucky I am to see so many true love stories in gorgeous photographic form, and Bryony & Dominics engagement shoot is no exception. They are getting married in June at the ever beautiful Byre at Inchyra. Claire Juliet Paton took them on an adventure to Trossachs National Park with their dog Nelson on a very hot day which was 'very laid back and full of giggles.' The resulting images I have to say just made be swoon.

And also... Bryony's ring!!! What. a. beauty.

Thank you so much to the lovely Claire for sharing; you can catch her on her websiteFacebookTwitter and Instagram.

esther & garry | st andrews

Garry & Esther are getting married at Pratis Barn in Leven in June. Such a gorgeous venue (which we love at Braw Brides, check out Yasmin & Blair's wedding here) with beautiful surroundings. Their day is going to be very relaxed, with a ceremony in a cute church in Kinross, then onto Pratis Barn. Garry is a musician and self employed composer for films and games (check him out on Twitter) and Esther is an interior designer working in Edinburgh.

Esther told me a little bit about their story as a couple and the moment when Garry proposed; I love this... so sweet and emotional, must admit even I teared up a little on reading this!

"Garry and I met at a summer Christian camp when we were about 16 and very quickly realised our connection. Our outlooks on life were so similar; our values, our faith, our interests & love for music were all just the beginning of our story. Our relationship has been long distance for the past 6 years which hasn't always been easy but on 11.12.13 (great date for remembering & two days before my birthday!) Garry proposed to me on the banks of Loch Ness in the Highlands of Scotland where he grew up. I was completely oblivious this was about to happen but was so overjoyed when it did! We were just back in Inverness for the weekend visiting Garry's folks and we often went for walks there on the beach. We decided to go for old times sake and make a wee fire as he had done many a time growing up. As we were constructing our fire, he popped back to the car to get 'matches' for the fire and returned with his guitar. . Garry has written a few songs for me before so I didn't think anything of it. He proceeded to tell me he'd written another song for my birthday. As he began to play I sat in awe listening to him pour his heart out to me in a very special way that I will never forget. I cried. Then he handed me the leather notebook I had bought him where he had written the lyrics to the song and once I had finished reading then he pulled out a ring box .... as it was conveniently getting dark, he opened the ring box with a light inside it shining down on theee most beautiful diamond! I think I froze for a good while and cried some more before I calmed his nerves by finally saying YES!"

"The two of us share an appreciation for all things creative and knew we wanted our photographer to be just that! When we came across the lovely Emma Kenny we immediately fell in love with her style and knew she was our girl! Emma is usually based in Northern Ireland but I just emailed her on the off chance that she would come to Scotland to photograph our engagement & wedding and was delighted when she said she would love to!"

"Unfortunately we weren't able to go back to Inverness where the proposal happened for these photos but we went to our second favourite beach instead which is in St Andrews, where we have played crazy golf, drank many coffees and had BBQs on the beach with friends over the years. It is a beautiful coastline with some of Scotland's finest scenery which we think Emma captures beautifully... we just can't wait for the big day now!"

Big thank you to the brilliant Emma Kenny for her images of the engagement shoot. You can catch Emma on her website, Facebook & Twitter.
