Submission Guidelines

Here at Braw Brides we hope to champion the most stylish, quirky, beautiful, and romantic Scottish weddings. We also want to showcase the cream of the crop in Scottish wedding suppliers. So whether you are a bride, a photographer, wedding supplier or couple who would like to be featured on the blog we would love to hear from you! We love real weddings, styled shoots and engagement shoots and love beautiful and creative photography, which is full of inspiring details.

We love everything from cool, urban city weddings to romantic highland elopements. Feel free to have a look though the blog and get a feel for the type of weddings we feature.

For real wedding submissions, we have a questionnaire that we send to the couple so that we can hear a bit about how/why they planned their wedding in a particular way. We also request the details of all the suppliers involved so we can credit them appropriately and provide a useful resource for couples planning their big day. Images and weddings that we blog will always be credited appropriately.

How To Submit

Good news! We accept a standard photography gallery link (e.g. Smugmug, Pixieset, Shootproof etc.) for wedding submissions, so there’s no need to prepare a collection of images especially for your submission. You can submit this to: In your email please also include a short description of the wedding you are submitting, what you loved about it and why it’s perfect for Braw Brides. Please also include the names of the couple, the wedding date and location.

Some notes:

• Please do not send high resolution images in your initial email
• Braw Brides will only feature images and content that has been produced by a professional photographer or filmmaker
• If your wedding is accepted we will send you a questionnaire for the couple to fill out - unfortunately we can’t feature Real Weddings without this being filled in by the couple
• You are not required to submit a questionnaire until after your wedding has been accepted (let’s not waste our lovely couple’s time!)
• Permission to be featured from the photographer is imperative.

We receive lots of submissions but we do reply to every e-mail, please bear with us and have no doubt that we will consider your submission.

Once a wedding has been accepted please send between 100-200 images without borders or watermarks. We prefer colour images but will share some black and white images if they help to tell the story of the day. We're definitely not biased against black and white - we love black and white photography, but the purpose of the blog is for inspiration, and part of that is the colours of the day.

The images you send should ideally cover all aspects of the day, bearing in mind that the purpose of the blog, and the interests of the readers, centre around details and choices:

  • Preparations

  • Hair / Make-up

  • Venue - Exterior and Interior

  • Ceremony

  • Reception

  • Flowers

  • Cake / Dessert Table / Cheese Cake

  • Decorations / Table Details / Stationery

  • Fashion / Shoes / Accessories

  • Couple Portraits

  • Speeches

  • Dancing

Please send your images via Dropbox to and name your folder with your business name and the couple’s names. Please name the images in chronological numbers / order and name them describing the venue, theme, location.

We can only accept JPEG images. Please make sure the resolution is set to 72dpi and that all images (portrait and landscape) are a minimum of 2000px wide. That’s 2000px on the horizontal edge, not 2000px at the longest edge. Yes - this means that the images, especially portrait ones, are pretty massive. However, to ensure best quality display across all displays including retina devices and equivalent, this is the only way to fly.

We will send you a questionnaire to forward onto your couple. Please remind them that we need to have a full set of links to all the wedding suppliers they used.

Styled Shoots

We love styled shoots, and whilst we tend to limit the number of styled shoots that we feature, we do welcome styled shoot submissions. For Styled Shoots we require between 100-200 images, which are to be supplied using the instructions above, and we require some words from the involved parties explaining their goals and inspiration for the styled shoot to use as accompanying copy.

Engagement Shoots

We will on occasion feature engagement shoots, sometimes on their own and sometimes as part of a larger engagement shoot feature.

Braw Brides will only publish weddings and shoots that have not previously been published on another wedding blog. Please do not submit anything that is currently awaiting confirmation from another blog. If your submission is successful / after you have been featured on Braw Brides, you are free to submit to other sites. However, we request that you wait 4 weeks before doing so.

Photographers, filmmakers and suppliers are of course welcome to feature the weddings on their own websites, before or after submitting to Braw Brides, and the exclusivity agreement as outlined above does not apply to photographers who showcase the wedding on their own blog.

Once you’ve been featured on Braw Brides, we'll send you the Loved By Braw Brides badge for putting on your site and linking back to the feature!

Occasionally, we run guest features and sponsored posts. These are always plainly designated as advertising, and they are subject to charge. Please get in touch for the full media pack and pricing, including in your first communication the following info: your name, business name, location, website and social media links.
